What is an EasyMandate (E-Mandate)?

EasyMandate is a digital payment service introduced by the CBO and participating banks to streamline the payment process for companies and individuals. This service provides the infrastructure for firms to collect payments without manual intervention.

EasyMandate functions as a debit authorization, allowing banks to debit a specified amount from your bank account. It is a convenient way for companies and individuals to manage their scheduled payments. Previously, this mandate was available offline as a paper-based mandate with cheques only, but the online process has made it more convenient.

  1. Log in to BankDhofar Mobile Banking, Retail Internet Banking, or Corporate Internet Banking.
  2. Select the EasyMandate option and go to “Initiated by Others.”
  3. Review all personal details and click on the “Accept Mandate” option.
  4. Validate your bank account, mobile number, and email information. Read through the terms and conditions, then click on “Submit.”
  5. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on “Submit.”
  6. Once authenticated successfully, the mandate will be registered with CBO instantly.

After completing these steps, your acceptance will be registered with your respective debiting banks. You can then view the BankDhofar EasyMandate status in your BankDhofar account. If needed, an organization or individual can cancel the mandate by submitting a request to the respective financial institution or mandate creator.

  2. Select the EasyMandate option and click on create mandate.
  3. Enter all debit party details and click on the “Create Mandate” option.
  4. Validate the details provided you, then click on “Confirm.”
  5. Once submitted successfully, the mandate will be registered with CBO instantly.

After completing these steps, your mandate creation will be registered with your respective debiting/crediting banks. You can then view the BankDhofar EasyMandate status in your BankDhofar account.

EasyMandate (E-Mandate)

To be eligible for EasyMandate, you must:

  • Have a valid bank account with access to digital applications like mobile banking, Retail Internet Banking, or Corporate Internet Banking.
  • Ensure the financial institution can initiate E-Mandate from their respective bank’s platform.

  • A bank account
  • Online banking access
  • A registered and working mobile number linked to your bank account.

Alongside learning the eligibility and documents, you should also understand the reasons behind the rejection of an E-Mandate request. Here are the details:

  • If your bank does not provide E-Mandate service.
  • If you enter incorrect bank account details.

The EasyMandate process has two classifications that allow it to work both ways:

  1. E-Mandate: Similar to the paper-based mandate, an OTP-based E-Mandate ensures that you receive or make all your payments on time and automatically. E-Mandate can be created and accepted in very steps using BankDhofar Mobile Banking and Retail Internet Banking.
  2. Paper-Based Debit Mandate: After approval by both the receiver and initiator, this mandate allows banks to debit the required amount from your account periodically for various payments. For instance, if you have a monthly installment of OMR 1,000, the bank will deduct this amount every month for this investment purpose, reducing the chances of missing payments. Currently paper based mandate creation is available through BankDhofar Corporate Internet Banking and branches.
