Do you know your rights as a Mala'a customer?
The Oman Credit and Financial Information Centre – named Mala’a – was established by Royal Decree in 2019 as an independent entity under the supervision of the Central Bank of Oman. Mala’a enables lenders to assess the creditworthiness of individuals and companies by assessing their credit repayment history.
- Credit Report and Credit Score
Mala’a Credit Report for individuals consists of comprehensive information on their credit contracts over the previous 24 months. The report includes the person’s Mala’a Credit Score – which is a three-digit number between 300 (least) and 900 (best) that predicts creditworthiness. The credit score also reflects changes in financial behaviour.
- Mala’a Customer Rights
While Mala’a offers a degree of transparency for lenders and credit providers, it also provides credit customers a comprehensive set of rights.
