Graduates BankDhofar “Ruwad” program: A comprehensive on the job training designed to enhance skill sets within the banking sector.
BankDhofar continuously invest in Omani talents and provide them with the necessary training as they are the real wealth of the Sultanate of Oman in line with Oman Vision 2040.
BankDhofar's launched “Ruwad” program since 7 years and it is a six-month graduate development program designed to equip young Omani graduates with the skills and knowledge they need for a successful career in banking. The program combines classroom training with practical experience, giving participants a well-rounded foundation in the banking industry.
About 200 people have graduated from the “Ruwad” program since its inception seven years ago. These individuals are well-positioned for a variety of roles at BankDhofar.
A Human touch
Ms. Nabila Al-Badaiya is one of the early trainees of this program. She joined during 2018 post her graduation from the Middle East College.
Al-Badaiah says: “Thanks to the intense six-month Ruwad program, I went through several departments within the banking sector, understood the rules and regulations associated. I also went through all the products and services along with how customer service functions and the departments within”.
After completion, Al Badaiya joined the Learning and Development Department. After four years, moved to the Transformation and Excellence Department in Human Resources Group. She aspires to advance through the career ladder to reach a leadership position within the Bank
Engineering to Banking
Laith Al Hinai was beaming with pride when asked about Ruwad. He says: “I graduated in chemical engineering at the University of South Florida,United States of America. I never thought of joining the banking sector, but the Ruwad program gave me the opportunity, as I learned a lot from it, such as accounting and finance, and the basics of banking in general.”
Post the Ruwad program, he started his career with the Investment banking, moved on to Government Banking Services as Relationship Manager and then to the Commercial Institutions deposits. He is currently working as a Relationship Manager at Dhofar Islamic’s Al Riadah priority bankingA
A proud Dawam referral
Maram Al-Hadrami, opted in the Ruwad program through the Dawam portal. She is an Accounting and finance specialist from the College of Banking Studies.
She comments “This program provided the best opportunity in building on my career prospects. Beyond the finance and the numbers, the program guided me with valuable human resource and interpersonal communication skills as well as taught me the importance of collaboration within teams. The importance of commitment and work discipline is what matters in the long run”
Ms. Al-Hadramiyya is a financial analyst at the Finance Department, and aspires to head the department one day.
Banking on Fundamentals
Khaled Al-Mukhaini is a graduate in finance at the prestigious University of Washington and was attracted to “ Ruwad” through Dawim portal.
He says “After my graduation I wanted to join the banking sector to fine tune my skills and build my career and Ruwad program offered the perfect opportunity by imparting not just basics but also finer details of banking”
He works as a financial analyst in the project finance department at the bank
Ms.Ghadeer Al Lamki joined the program during 2019 immediately after graduation. She was referred by one of her friends and she is extremely grateful for the opportunity
