BankDhofar’s ‘Bank on Wheels’ rolls into Dhofar for khareef roadshow
BankDhofar’s innovative ‘Bank on Wheels’ is rolling south toward the lush khareef landscapes of Dhofar, as part of a four-day roadshow designed to bring value-driven banking services directly to communities and travelers alike.
Launched earlier this year, Bank on Wheels is a fully equipped, mobile banking branch that reflects BankDhofar’s commitment to inclusive, customer-centric, and technology-enabled financial services across Oman. By going beyond conventional banking models, this initiative ensures that even the most remote communities have access to essential financial support—on the move and on demand.
With khareef showers turning Dhofar into a seasonal magnet for domestic and regional tourists, Bank on Wheels is heading off the main expressway and taking the scenic, people-focused route. Rather than speeding down the highway, the convoy is making scheduled stops in towns, villages, and key community centres—staying true to its core mission of enhancing financial inclusion.
The roadshow began on 13th July at the Samad a’Shan Health Centre in Al Mudhaibi (North Al Sharqiyah Governorate), followed by visits to Sinaw Health Centre and Bar Zaman Company. From there, the convoy headed coastward through AL Wusta, making stops at Mahout Construction Company and the local health centre on 14th July, before hosting a community engagement event in Duqm that evening.
On 15th July, Bank on Wheels provided full-day services at Duqm Health Centre, before travelling to Al Jazer, where the team engaged with customers at the health centres in Khal, Lakbi, and Soqarah. The same day, they continued on to Shalim, concluding with a social gathering that evening. The final day, 16th July, featured stops at the Shalim and Hasik Health Centres.
For residents and visitors in these areas, the roadshow provided an invaluable opportunity to access full-spectrum banking services close to home—eliminating long travel times and queues. As a mobile, one-stop branch, Bank on Wheels enables services such as account openings, loan applications, and personal consultations, all handled by skilled BankDhofar staff trained in customer engagement and service delivery.
Purpose-built for mobility and accessibility, the van is equipped with secure digital terminals, biometric authentication, and real-time integration with BankDhofar’s mobile and core banking platforms. It features constant connectivity, encrypted communications, and a climate-controlled interior with dedicated consultation spaces, ensuring both comfort and privacy.
Beyond its core banking mandate, Bank on Wheels serves as a platform for financial literacy, hosting awareness sessions and advisory workshops to help citizens make informed financial choices, adopt digital tools, and build long-term resilience.
By collaborating with local stakeholders and taking banking directly to the people, BankDhofar is redefining the customer experience—making banking more personal, responsive, and empowering.
