Spreading smiles this Ramadan: BankDhofar celebrates ‘Qaranqasho’ with children

Reinforcing its long-standing commitment to social responsibility and inclusive community development, BankDhofar proudly sponsored the annual ‘Qaranqasho’ mid-Ramadan celebration organised by the Association for Children with Disabilities. Held at the Kempinski Hotel Muscat, the event brought together children and their families for an evening filled with joy, cultural tradition, and meaningful community engagement.

The sponsorship reflects BankDhofar’s broader CSR strategy, which places strong emphasis on supporting children with disabilities and promoting inclusive participation in national and religious celebrations. Qaranqasho, a cherished mid-Ramadan tradition in Oman and across the Gulf, provides children with the opportunity to dress in traditional attire, celebrate with their peers, and experience the spirit of generosity and belonging that defines the holy month.

As part of its participation, BankDhofar hosted a dedicated booth at the event, distributing gifts and ice cream to children and their families. The initiative was met with enthusiastic engagement, adding a festive touch to the evening and reinforcing the bank’s commitment to creating joyful and memorable experiences for children. The gesture underscored the importance of ensuring that children with disabilities are fully included in community celebrations.

BankDhofar’s support for humanitarian and social initiatives is a core pillar of its CSR framework. By partnering with organisations such as the Association for Children with Disabilities, the bank aims to help strengthen community institutions that provide essential educational, therapeutic, and advocacy services to children with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. Through targeted sponsorships, volunteerism, and sustainable community programmes, BankDhofar continues to align its efforts with Oman’s broader social development priorities.

The Association for Children with Disabilities expressed its appreciation for the bank’s ongoing support, noting that such partnerships play a vital role in enabling the association to expand its programmes and enhance the quality of services offered to children and their families across the Sultanate.

By supporting Qaranqasho and similar initiatives, BankDhofar reaffirms its belief that sustainable growth must go hand in hand with social solidarity. The bank remains committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to participate, celebrate, and thrive within the community.
